Five advanced MDT dancers are competing in YAGP Chicago.
March 17
MDT moves to new location!
All programming will be held at the new location going forward except for the Primary Division dancers, ages 4–7, who will continue at Center for Performing Arts until the 2026 Summer Program.
May 1–2
The 2026 Spring Festival will take place on May 1 and 2, 2026 at the O'Shaughnessy Theater at St. Catherine University.
Featuring all MDT students ages 4–18, the program includes excerpts from the classical ballet Le Corsaire, as well as original works in ballet, jazz, and contemporary.
The performance will also feature special guest artists from American Ballet Theatre,
Ingrid Thoms and
Cy Doherty.
May 17
Open House & Art-A-Whirl
On Sunday, May 17 from 12–5 p.m., MDT will be hosting Art-A-Whirl and an Open House. The open house will include two free ballet classes, for children ages 10–17 and adults ages 18+. Classes are free, but registration is required and space is limited.
Stop by to take a class, check out MDT’s new space, and purchase art from local artists! Everyone is welcome.

We are thrilled to share the very exciting news that MDT will be producing its first-ever
The Nutcracker Suite in 2026!
The Nutcracker Suite will offer roles to all students ages 4–18 enrolled in the Primary and Upper Division. Internationally renowned choreographers include Gemma Bond’s brand new Waltz of the Flowers, Brady Farrar’s Waltz of the Snowflakes, Darrius Strong’s Arabian, and many more.
